We rescue from Durham to Dorset, caring for sick, injured, distressed and orphaned wildlife, including feral cats.
Hezzie James started taking care of wild animals in the mid 70s after her father brought her a swift to care for.
In 1980 she opened the first wildlife hospitals in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire under the name Wildlife in Need.
In 2014, Wildlife in Need became a registered charity and five years later, Hezzie turned her family home into a wildlife hospital and safe haven for wild animals in Clowne, Derbyshire.
Today, we take in many wild animals across England and Wales, but mainly in Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire. We serve the public with a 24/7 year-round rescue, ambulance, reception and advice service for wild animals.
We rehabilitate wild animals back to their natural habitat, and provide sanctuaries for those that are physically or mentally unable to be released.
